"Dedicated, compassionate individuals"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I gave birth to my first baby, at Heartlands Hospital in October last year. After a long labour, I was transferred to Heartlands from Solihull. Throughout my whole pregnancy I was adamant that I didn't want to end up at Heartlands Hospital, having formed preconceived ideas about how awful the care would be.

I couldn't have been more wrong. My midwife and doctor were caring, considerate and professional to both me and my husband throughout the labour. When my child was born, he had breathing difficulties and again, the care given to him was amazing. After a night in Neo-natal, my child and I were transferred to Blossom Ward (Transitionary Care) where the care was outstanding. Nat and her team made my child and I well, comfortable and they truly cared for us. They are a group of dedicated, compassionate individuals of which the NHS should be proud of. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Heartlands if I was lucky enough to have another baby.

Many thanks for this feedback, I am delighted that you had such outstanding care at Heartlands Maternity unit and that you would be happy to return. It is a real boost to staff to hear such comments when they are working so hard.

I will make sure that the staff see your message.

I hope you and Freddie are doing well.

Matthew
