"Very unpleasant experience with car parking attendant."

About: Western General Hospital / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

On Feb 5th at 11. 30 am I approached car park No3 from the Telford road direction and signaled my intention to enter the car park but was careful not to block the entrance as there were oncoming vehicles also signaling their intention to cross over and park. the car park was not full. A parking attendant asked me were I was going and when I explained I was going to Ward 1 oncology he told me to "just drive on".

When I told him this was my usual car park he shouted join the queue down the road. It's not rocket science! When I asked him to repeat what he said his reply was, some people just don, t get it. Go and do a U turn.

His manner was rude and intimidating and not they way the others in that department go about their jobs. I had no other option but to travel up to the Anne Ferguson building and walk all the way back through the hospital.

Carpark no3 is the area I was advised to use by my consultant prior to my treatment at Oncology. this persons conduct and attitude left me and my wife shocked and upset. we have always complimented the Western on. the wonderful service we have received. this individual was fully aware that I was going to Oncology yet showed no interest in my condition or needs

My car parking experiences are usually good.
