"Confusing Cardiac Care at Kent & Sussex"

About: Kent & Sussex Hospital

(as the patient),

I had a pacemaker fitted over a year ago with some problems occurring soon after; strong heart beats etc. I informed the cardiac department level 6 and they said the bottom of my heart was not working as it should and on rare occasions a stroke could occur. Aspirin would be given to rectify it and they said they would inform my Doctor, which they didn't do!!

The problem resulted, to my horror, in me having a second painful operation 6 weeks after as they found one of the wires in my heart was not connected. My left arm & hand swelled after this op. I informed the cardiac department, they said ' NO nothing to do with the op' but it was discovered many months later I had a clot were the incision is. I was mortified. Warfarin was prescribed and gave me untold anxious times, after a chat with my surgeon I am now on aspirin but told the clot could return.

It has left me sad, depressed, fearful its a relief to speak to you all about it. A lot more happened but you have the main story.
