"Stars of Ipswich Hospital"

On 2nd February at approximately 2.a.m. I was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital. This followed on from my 999 call as I was experiencing chest pains and had experienced a heart attack last April. An emergency response team attended followed by the ambulance team who did an assessment and recommended a check-up at the hospital. On arrival at the hospital I was met by a very pleasant reception welcome. The ambulance team took me to a nearby private bay area. After further assessment, tests and a chest x-ray I was taken to Brantham Ward. During the early morning I received further assessment, tests and medication. From the initial 999 call through to my care in Brantham Ward everyone treated me as if I was the only person in the hospital with kindness, professional care and very importantly humour! I need to mention that the "cup of tea" given to me by the lady in Brantham Ward at breakfast time was the best of the day! The humour from a person who was in the ward for the first time. I am sorry I did not get everyone's name as I was not always wearing my glasses! As we know all hospital staff everywhere are experiencing unprecedented levels of stress management and it is to their credit that they still give such a professional care experience to their patients. I am very fortunate that this experience resulted in no further treatment being necessary but I feel it imperative to thank you all for your care. Thank-you so much! With my love, Carol Andrews
