"Disappointing service"

About: Wycombe Hospital

After being told to attend MIU by NHS direct we were very disappointed with the service provided by the team here. We arrived at around 6.30 and although we were waiting at the desk for a few minutes the receptionist asked if anyone had appointments and as we didn't proceeded to deal with the people behind us in the queue. Gave my details at a not very private reception with an entire waiting room listening to my personal problem. We were not advised how long the wait would be or told anymore details than sit down. When we finally got to see someone I couldn't tell you their job as they did not introduce themselves. She was very abrupt and had very little people skills. I felt uncomfortable and a nuisance. I presume she was an agency nurse as she didn't know where the nearest a&e was or whether the community pharmacy would still be open! Considering I went in with an injury and the nurse did not examine me in anyway did not fill us with any confidence. I was given 2 loose tablets to take once I got home. Was not told the dose and did not see what package they came from. The nurse often left the room to get medication or equipment and consistantly left the door wide open. Would have been nice to have some privacy to discuss my problem. I will just go to a&e next time as we ended up there afterwards with a completely different diagnosis after a doctors examination!
