"Lack of Respect and Care for the Elderly "

My father is currently in Arrowe Park Hospital. We have been waiting for him to come home. I think this is due to the lack of doctors who can sign him out meaning that he is still in. In my opinion the nurses are rude and yesterday I was accused by one nurse who looks after my father that I have not put his health first and I was being selfish and cared only about myself. The fact is that I have cared for my father continuously for the past 5 years since losing and also caring for my mother who we lost to Alzheimer’s but this is besides the point. Who does that nurse thinks she is? I believe she should not be nursing the elderly with a tongue like that. I will be logging a complaint once my father has left the hospital. Since last week I have been trying to find out when my father is allowed home. We keep getting told tomorrow, but we have been told tomorrow three times now. We were also then told when we phone to arrange the time that the doctors hadn’t been round! I believe the older generation is being treated in a manner which treats them as unimportant and obsolete.
