"Day Surgery Unit"

My visit to the day surgery was very positive. From the moment of arrival in the unit the staff were diligent and very well prepared. I had already had a pre-op appointment with a member of staff who was also on the day unit that day as well...nice to see this continuity. Ward staff, recovery ward staff and the anaesthetist came and introduced themselves to each patient. These visits were followed by a visit to each patient from the surgeon who discussed the propossed procedure with each patient. There were similar high standards in the operating room with the operating team. After the surgery each patient was visited again by the surgeon who discussed the outcome of their particular operation After care was conscientious and caring. I think this is a fantastic facility of which local people and the NHS should be so proud. This is what local health care is all about. Long may it continue.
