"Everyone was nice and explained everything"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Paediatrics St Mary's Hospital / Paediatrics St Michael's Hospital (Bristol)

(as a parent/guardian),

When I was pregnant with my twin boys everything was going smoothly until I was 26 weeks pregnant and the decided now was the time to be born. Once they were born and taken to nicu I felt I was kind of forgotten about by the nurses on the maternity ward. But everyone on the nicu ward was so nice and explained everything.

Now because they were born so early we couldn't stay on the island and the closest place that had 2 bed was Bristol. We ended up in 2 different hospitals up there as one of my boys needed surgery. Both hospital staff were so calming and just nice for them to be there for a chat.

After about 5 weeks they were moved down to Portsmouth and the staff there was amazing and supportive but because we were only there for about 3 weeks it was hard to get a bond with the staff.

For the duration of the twins time in hospital we were back on the island in st Mary's, and it was so calm and everyone was so caring not only of the babies need but of us parents as well, it seems like everyone is a little family and I am so glad that my twins were in the care of the nicu staff up at st marys

Hi Twinmummy2013!

Thank you so much for writing to us and letting us know the rest of your lovely babies treatment pathway. We are so pleased that whilst you were here with us in Portsmouth, you were made to feel supported as this must have been extremely reassuring to you and your family through such a worrying time. Please be assured that we will of course pass your kind words on to the relevant staff as we are sure they will be just as pleased to receive this as we were.

Please allow us to take this opportunity to wish you and your new family all the best for the future.

Kindest Regards

Leanne
