I had my first baby at Homerton nearly 6 months ago. I had wanted to use the birth centre though unfortunately I couldn't. I was overdue so I was induced and eventually ended up with an emergency c-section. The whole experience was quite traumatic and not at all the labour I had hoped for but everyone at the hospital - the midwives, doctors, anaesthetists (and I saw a lot of them), etc were great - extremely professional, supportive, friendly and brilliant at their jobs. I was very impressed by the care I recieved. In theatre in particular which myself and my partner found frightening, the staff were very reassuring and considerate. The only real downside was that the post natal ward was too hot and noisy with some people having crowds of visitors disturbing everyone else. The staff were great though and working so hard. Despite the horrible labour and delivery I had, the care I received was excellent and I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who looked after me and my baby at Homerton.
"great doctors and midwives during difficult..."
