"Thank you ED paediatric team"

After a fall in the morning earlier that that day my son suddenly started to cough blood in the evening, in a panic we rushed ourselves to Russell’s Hall Emergency Department. Upon arrival the receptionist quickly went back to her desk to help us and sent my husband and son straight round to the paediatric area, she also booked us in quickly so that I could follow. when I re-joined my son he was already being looked after by the paediatric Nurse and Doctor, they quickly assessed him, dealt with the bleeding and called the Max Fax Doctor, who also came promptly to the department. Time was taken to answer all of our queries and worries and thankfully we were able to go home that night. It’s a distressing time whenever your child is ill but in an emergency this distress is heightened, our fears were swiftly comforted and throughout it all the staff were very caring and communicative about what was happening. We are very grateful to the whole of the paediatric team we saw that night, they were fantastic and quickly provided excellent care to my son. We really appreciated having an area and team specifically for children and would like to thank them all.
