After having bleeding in early pregnancy I was referred to EPU for a scan. Amanda was one of the main nurses that my husband and I had contact with during my miscarriage and she was a godsend. She helped to make a truely horrific circumstance a little more bearable with her warmth and understanding. Resources are stretched and the unit is clearly busy but the care I received during scans and return appointments helped me a lot. I am very grateful to handful of staff in that unit for the work they do. We were also looked after by a student nurse (Jodie? ) who was wonderful, she will be a brilliant nurse. Had to be admitted to the Writtle ward over a weekend which was not so good and the general care was a little lacklustre here (everything goes on hold over the weekend it seems) but the HCA's excelled. On the whole, I think Broomfield has it right with this area of care. Thank you.
