"My mum's excellent care"

About: Tameside General Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My 88 year old mum was admitted to the Elective Unit in October for what we thought was a gall bladder procedure. However, following her ERCP she was found to have cancer and was subsequently transferred to the hospice. The care during her three week stay on this ward was absolutely first class. Every single person would have received ten out of ten. Thank you so much to everyone on this ward.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. We are pleased that you and your family had a positive experience on the Elective Unit during a very difficult and emotional time. The Ward Manager will ensure the ward team are aware of your kind comments.

’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
