I have a nephew in children's services. The staff that I have spoken to have been lovely and have no complaints of his care. Although I am very shocked at how easy it is to get into the department, we have just been buzzed in on many occasions without checks. It is not as though it has been the same staff on the ward so they would not have recognised us. I know from visits to Bury hospital this has been very different. Maybe security needs to be tightened? On visiting the restaurant I was horrified at the filth! You could tell the cabinets were not cleaned underneath - same filth and debris two days running, light fittings filled with dust, the pillar next to salt etc thick with dust. I actually ended up not eating anything there. I was with my family and we all commented. We wouldn't expect this in a hospital. On saying all of the above - staff are fantastic, friendly and our child has received fantastic care.
