in January 2015, my wife had to call 999 because I was in terrible pain in my side and chest. The paramedicS were there in 7 mins. they did different tests then took me to the royal gwent.
This was 8. 30 in the evening. I was seen straight away. they were very busy. patients were lining the corridors. The took me for an xray, took lots of blood and gave me painkillers. the following day I had a scan. they thought I may have a blood clot.
the scan showed an infection in my lung and a little nodule. they took me to the short stay ward, where I was well looked after. I now have appointments to attend with the chest doctor. I have never had to stay in hospital before and was dreading it I am 68 years old.
I would like to thank all the people who helped and looked after me. there are lovely people working for the nhs.
the problem is that the hospitals are too small and the people do their best.
please relay this message of thanks
