"the saga continues"

About: St James's University Hospital

after 2 and a half weeks of continuous mishaps my mother is thentransfered to a discharge ward,i was very relieved.only to discover the ward she was sent to was full of patients and not 1 of them in the entire ward was physically and/or mentally capable of being discharged and sent home.so she asked for a commode still very unsteady on her feet due to lack of food on 3 occasions due to loss of menu and was told by a nurse she would have to walk to the toilet.when she refused she was told "well in that case you will have to sit there until you burst" which eventually she did and wet herself!!i will make provisions that unless i am immobilised or dead i am never to be admitted to this hospital.please look into this!!!

Dear Anonymous

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I was very sorry to read of your mothers experience whilst in our care; what you have described is in no way acceptable and should be thoroughly investigated.

Unfortunately we do not have sufficient information to thoroughly look into the matters you have raised therefore it would be very helpful and also beneficial for our service and the care of future patients if you would discuss these issues further with our Trust’s Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS).

Please call our Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net

With kind regards
