"High Street Clinic"

About: Essex County Hospital

Had a review appointment at the newly opened High Street Clinic aka Sexual Health. Am strongly against same sex reception area! Male patients are taken through to a separate waiting room whilst the females are left in the reception area, if this is their waiting room it is not very discreet and I have no doubt that this will be a factor with the younger generation. I was hoping my appointment would be with one particular member of staff and I was not disappointed! This woman is my hero, not only does her passion for the job ooze from every pore but she has outstanding communication skills, fabulous interpersonal skills and follows infection control procedures, hoorah! I was made to feel at ease every step of the way and my questions were answered thoroughly. What they don't know isn't worth knowing, I kid you not. I hope she is regarded as an asset and is appreciated and respected. I left feeling reassured and happy?

We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. If you are willing I would appreciate it if I could ask the matron to contact you. Could you email me, using the reference “Comment on RDEEB-Essex County Hospital at 26/01/2015 11:02:55”, please? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
