Very disappointed would not willingly go back to a and e. Spent a long time in pain had to keep asking for pain relief, twice it was the 3rd time of asking I ask before I got it. I had a broken arm and this was in a period over 12 hours. waking around 6.30 in pain I ask for medication by 7.45 I asked again but this time I got a stroppy nurse telling me she had just come on shift and why I hadn't told a doctor what medication I was on. I told her through tears I had she wrote details down on some paper. she said she would ring my daughter, I told her I don't have a daughter as she left room. some 15 mins later she did come with an injection. As she put it in slowly she kept insisting that my arm felt better, she wouldn't accept it wasn't instant relief. then I spent the next 10 mins listening them gossiping that neither of them were going to help lift me out of bed as I usually walk with sticks due to arthritis. I didn't hear the reasons why they couldn't help me out of bed, but I felt so sad that I was being discussed in such a manor. nobody had come to me to ask me if I could manage to get out of bed. but even getting the injection 20 mins earlier I was sat on edge of bed, didn't that suggest I was somewhat mobile. The gossiping went on negatively about another nurse and then an unhappy discussion about who was having the 9.30am break slot. then i heard one nurse ask the nurse that had injected me how much morphine had she given me as it had not been logged on sheet, 10 mls she replied. I did not feel cared for in the slightest. I was wheeled down by porter from ward down through public areas to fracture clinic with nothing but thin hospital nighty, it is January the ambulance crew had cut my clothes off me before I got to hospital the night before. I was offered a blanket by clinic staff, I didn't have to ask. When I was allowed to go home taxi was arranged which I was grateful as I didn't have a penny on me or my bus pass to get home. I do walk with 2 sticks but with a broken arm it was going to be painful Down in a and a entrance waiting for taxi I noticed I still had needles in my left arm and had to ask a nurse to remove them before I got in taxi. There was no real care for me I was treated as a problem, I am gutted by the lack of care I was shown.
