In brief my husband was a patient for just under a fortnight being treated by the vascular team in the Benyon Centre. Though whilst i feel there were a minority whom gave all to there jobs, ensuring care whilst is evident working in an ever expanding hospital within pressured environments, there are those who unfortunately overshadowed this. Many errors occurred not all directly to us but were sited - giving wonder that vital treatment could well be missed - patients records being mixed up with others and mistakes being made causing delay with other procedures. When i spoke with on the unit to a sister i felt abruptly but all the same it was only after my husband engaged in a general conversation with a cleaner (ask a porter or the cleaner) that it was found that the vascular unit was based at Russells Hall and not New Cross - making the situation more understood (why the wait) but it took for this person to make time to explain the matter to us an enlightening us on the subject as to why en curing the delay with us. Yes we all know New Cross is an ever expanding sprawling set up but when it over spills in to the treatment being had and not keeping patients and relatives generally abreast as to why what ever is going then no wonder there is an increasing quest for people to ask questions over and over - trying to ensure that the appropriate treatment is being prescribed.
