I had a planned C-Section on New Years Eve, the maternity unit was at full capacity yet the care received from the theatre staff and the staff on swan ward was second to none. I had a few complications also and had to go back into theatre later in the day but again both the theatre staff and midwives on swan ward reassured me and put my partner and I at ease. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days in total and cannot fault the staff, they were there for me when needed both emotionally and physically and I really cannot express how grateful I am to the whole team for keeping me and my newborn baby safe and cared for when we were at our most vulnerable. I would not choose anywhere else to have my baby. The follow up care from the community midwife was exceptional - reliable, caring, professional, understanding, patient - I cannot speak highly enough of her. Thank you.
