"My vision was saved at QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Dear Miss Lim and Team,

I find myself compelled to write to you today so that I may pass on my heartfelt thanks in the care that you gave me in June.

I came to you previously at which time I had Visudyn treatment on my right eye, and for a short period I believed this helped, however a few weeks later I noticed my central vision was so seriously affected in the eye that I was no longer able to drive, this frightened me to the extent I called and was given an appointment immediately.

On arriving at the clinic I was greeted with nothing but reassurance and advised of all my options. I have just turned 39 years old and having been made redundant recently, felt that should I lose my sight (as my left eye is weaker) that I would be in an impossible situation. However I was given an injection into my right eye and within 3 days my central vision returned to how it was prior. What a relief! I can’t thank you and your team enough for making that possible.

I am soon to be moving to Eastbourne as I have work there and I just hope that the follow up clinic there will be as caring, compassionate and as experienced as yourself and team as I now realise only too well how we take situations within our lives for granted. I mean can you imagine being 39 and being disabled due to loss of sight, which you have now prevented.

Once again, thanks.
