"Experience of Crawley centre"

About: Inpatient mental health care (national/specialist)

(as the patient),

I started therapy over two yrs ago at the Crawley centre. I think it is a money making scheme with only staffs interests. when I started there I believed the staff would help me but behind your back its different. people often turned up smelling of alcohol only for others to take the blame. I feel like they mess with your meds. I needed to change mine due to side affects I asked to see a doctor you would think this was easy ....no. so after asking and asking for someone to speak to concerning my meds i took it upon myself to withdraw. this was awful when they finally see me I was a mess but they wouldn't give me medication and stressed I was now prone to seizures. I left the unit distraught ....no one contacted me for two weeks! ! in that time I went to my own gp and my meds were sorted out and I was listened to. for all the Crawley knew I could of been dead. It seems that their attitude is don't come in dont get help but they still claim for you being there. what goes on is bad. I've been left out in the gutter. normally you'd go leavers for a year after your two years, I'm not. the place made me cut more and lie. you had to. surely they have a duty of care but they don't. they play with you, suck you in then when they finished digging about. its like a live autopsy. makes me sick thinking of the place
