I went to a&e with my husband after an extended period of pain from a previously diagnosed condition of gallstones, I was seen very quickly and was admitted to b14 within a couple of hours of arriving at hospital. All the staff I encountered on a&e were friendly, efficient and did the job properly with care and I definitely can't complain about waiting times!! Once on b14 again all staff I encountered were amazing, right from the student nurses and hca's to the sisters and consultants, I spent 48 hours on b14 and although its a busy ward I was made as comfortable as possible by all staff I encountered, I was kept up to date regularly with my progress and felt in the loop of my treatment without having to ask, it was also meticulously cleaned. After being treated for two days I was discharged and booked back for 5 days later as an emergency case to have my gallbladder removed, again I went to b14 prior to surgery, and saw different staff but got exactly the same treatment, the consultant even findng a minute to pop in to see me to apologise for my wait, which I found a really nice touch, after surgery I went to b20 and again all staff were brilliant. All in all I feel very proud of our NHS and am extremely grateful to every single person involved in my care and helping me to make a speedy recovery. Thank you royal Blackburn!!!
