"Superb treatment for Dupuytren's contracture..."

My treatment was excellent! I was kept fully informed about this minor procedure to reduce the Duputren's contracture of a finger. The 'needle fasciotomy' was efficiently carried out by the consultant, with a very considerate and sympathetic Nurse looking after a concerned and nervous patient. Both the consultant and Nurse really did help me to relax during this almost painless procedure. Immediately after theprocedure I went to Occupational Health, where another member of staff made splints for the finger and showed me how to use them. She took great care in the fitting of the splint and in ensuring that I was able to use it correctly. From meeting the consultant to leaving the member of staff in Occupational health took only fourty minutes - a truly excellent use of resources. The needle fasciotomy procedure is so much more efficient than the surgery alternatives and was a much better option for my, relatively mild, contracture. I do hope that the Chief Executive can pass on my thanks to those concernd in the 'Hand Clinic' for a job well done. The clinic offers a very cost effective, efficient method of treating a common condition. Throughout I have had considerate, sympathetic and excellent treatment which I cannot praise enough. Well done to all concerned in the 'Hand' clinic.
