"St Albans Minor Injuries Unit"

About: St Albans City Hospital

Perfect, thank you, and all for a 2mm splinter! Went on Friday morning 23rd January 2015 at c. 0910hrs, with a deeply embedded wood splinter in my index finger. I was politely and efficiently checked in (as efficiently as one can be, given that I'd be equally happy to hand over an ID card containing my electronic details, which Civil Libertarians are so opposed to allegedly in our name). Waiting time was minimal - I'd been hoping to read the paper! - and I was quickly seen by a member of staff, who skilfully gouged out the splinter, let me look through her Dr Who goggles at the culprit, mopped by brow (honest), made sure I didn't quite faint at the sight of pliers/needle/a single drop of blood, and plastered it up with stinging stuff. Couldn't ask for more, thanks.
