"Cardiology Consultant & ward 7 staff."

About: Manor Hospital

I rang and spoke to a senior sister on ward 7/CCU,as I had concerns & worries regarding some new symptoms I had been experiencing, very recently. (I would of obviously gone to A&E if it was an emergency,as I have previous cardiac history) An ecg was arranged and done within 2 hours,I took the Ecg to ward 7,where the sister sat me in her office, had a look at it,and told me not to worry as it looks ok to her,and she would get a Registrar just to look at it,while I was there as it would reassure me. On her return, she said the cardiology consultant was busy, but she would ask him to see me.I did say no,as everyone was so busy, and I was just very grateful the ECG had been done and the sister and registrar had looked at it,and reassured me. The Consultant came and shook my hand and sat beside me,He took his time to explain the ECG,listen to my worries and concerns, and answer my questions. He said that he will write to my GP,that week,to start me on some new medication ,and he will see me at my clinic appt (which I had tryed to get moved to an earlier date)in March and see how the new medication is suiting/helping me and how I am. The Consultant has performed 2 previous procedures on me,on the Sterling unit, and has always been approachable, explains things at a level of understanding and reassured me. The care and kindness I was shown and given, from speaking to the sister, early morning, and then leaving ward 7 after seeing the consultant was outstanding and superb! The ward was extremely busy, and so were all the nursing and medical staff.Out of their busy schedule they took time to help, reassure, and take care of me,when I wasn't even a patient on the ward, I left feeling less anxious, worried and with peace of mind. A very big Thank you,and you really are a credit and very valuable part of the hospitals service provider.
