"First Class treatment and care on Christmas Eve"

About: Watford General Hospital

On Christmas Eve we took our 4 year old daughter to A&E with breathing difficulties at around 8am. From the moment we entered the hospital, we were treated with efficiency, kindness and professionalism. I would estimate that from the time we walked through the doors, my daughter had been placed on a nebuliser within 12 minutes. Within that time we registered at the main A&E desk and had seen 3 nurses in the Children's A&E triage. From there on, we received first class treatment. Both the doctor and nurse provided regular & frequent updates and checks, all delivered with the right level of friendliness to put my daughter at ease, and the appropriate level of information and comfort for us the parents. This level of treatment continued when we were transferred to the observation unit. Additionally, I thought the facilities and cleanliness of the department was were exceptional. Thanks to the lovely doctors and nurses we saw, we were able to go home about 4pm and enjoy the rest of Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I am very grateful to all those who helped us.
