Leaving this review after waiting over 10 + minutes to get through to ward E51 . Wait a while for switch board to answer ,ring regularly and they are always polite and helpful. Often tel wd 51 and 52 . Able to get throughj to wd 52 within 5 minutes staff nurse not available awaiting their call back[.still waiting 30min later ]. Eventually got through to E51 to a great nurse after 15 minutes. Please please put more staff on the tel on the ward. We must consider relatives who are expecting bad new,s every second must be torture. Also this is the face of the hospital and first impressions are important. How can I remain anonymous if i have to give you my e-mai address.

Thank you for taking the time to leave comments regarding your experience of poor response to telephone calls on Ward E51. We can appreciate how frustrating this must have been for you and acknowledge that this is not ideal. We have reiterated the importance of being responsive to telephone calls to all wards however there will be occasions when all staff members are busy with patients and are unable to answer as quickly as possible however this should be relatively infrequent.
