"Very grateful to have this hospital and its..."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

All the dealings my family have had with Darlington Memorial have been excellent, apart from years ago when my mother broke her hip and two of the nurses on the ward she was on were quite harsh and made her cry. That however was a long while back and I put it down to individual human failing, as other nurses on the same ward were lovely. My most recent experience was yesterday when I took a friend to an appointment in the Colonoscopy suite. The staff at Darlington Memorial Hospital's colonoscopy department are brilliant. I spent several hours in their waiting room today, waiting for a friend to have a procedure done, and seeing them work so efficiently but sympathetically was a revelation. Similarly we have a relative who has been in intensive care lately, and that department is wonderful too. We must band together to protect our NHS!

Response from Darlington Memorial Hospital

Thank you for providing feedback on your friends recent visit to Darlington Memorial Hospital's Colonoscopy Suite and also your relative's care in the Intensive Care Unit. I am very pleased to hear that you and your friend and relative had a positive experience and that you are happy with the care they received and the attiude of the staff you witnessed whilst waiting for your friend in Colonoscopy. I am also pleased this experience has been better than your previous experience your other had whilst on one of the wards. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with Matrons for both areas to pass on to the staff.
