Good Hope gets a lot of bad press locally but I would like to praise the service we had last Sunday.
While playing football on Sunday my son (15 years old) managed to break his wrist. We arrived by car at A&E about 3pm, by half 3 the children's A&E team had stabilised a badly broken wrist in a plaster cast, had it X rayed, reviewed the x Rays & informed us what was needed.
The injury required surgery asap to pin the bones back into position, we did have to wait around 6 hours before there was a slot in the operating theatre but during this time we were transferred to the ward, provided with a portable DVD player so we could watch a film to keep my son's mind off the impending operation.
All the staff both in A&E & on the ward were very helpful friendly & kept us fully informed. They were all a credit to their profession & to the hospital.
Please pass this onto the team with our heartfelt thanks.
"Great service from Good Hope Hospital"
