"Treatment in Ward 6 at Monklands General Hospital"

About: Monklands District General Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Ward 6 last Tuesday and spent 7 days there.

I was treated very well by the nursing/other staff who worked there. 99% of the staff who dealt with me showed on a daily basis that they were in the correct profession. Caring, diligent, hard working and responsible are only a few of the words that sum up day to day dealing with me.

The skills they displayed amazed me - caring - juggling priorities - multitasking - cleaning - feeding - tending - empathy - diplomats - communicators - arbitrators - you name it, they did it. All of this for over 12 hours a day - each day - non stop. I cannot praise them highly enough.

Thanks to Maureen, Laura, Lisa, Anne and the many others (who's names I have forgotten) for their time, care and attention, it was very much appreciated at a worrying time.

Dear NeilF

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of care whilst in ward 6 and I will pass on your kind comments to the team.

I know the staff will be delighted with such positive feedback as they work very hard to put the patient at the centre of their care, and have developed skills to fill the many roles needed by patients.

As you have said being ill and in hospital is a very worrying time and I'm glad the staff were able to comfort and reassure you. I do hope you are recovering now.

Kind regards

Ruth
