"Very Good Service on Visit to A&E with Eldery..."

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

My 77-year old mother had to be taken to A&E after a fall while visiting us from Yorkshire. A&E was very busy and we feared the worst when (with several people ahead of us in the queue) the first call we heard for someone for treatment came after a 25 min wait. However our fears were unfounded as the people waiting were subsequently seen in quick succession. Once seen, my Mum was treated with respect and understanding, the treatment was quick and caring from all (doctor, nurse to remove rings from fingers, x-ray, nurse putting on plaster cast). All done within 3 hours.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are proud of the care provided to your mother and hope that she was still able to enjoy her visit from Yorkshire. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this feedback. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that a patient’s experience whilst at the hospital is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and they are always considerably heartened and motivated on learning how much their efforts have been appreciated. We have passed your kind sentiments to staff in the Emergency Department. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 432 0251, email wih-tr.pals@nhs.net or in writing to PALS, Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 5PE.
