Cannot fault staff in A and E who treated mother after another fall with respect and dignity. Just a shame that on moving to various wards, she is now feeling vulnerable and scared of certain staff. On talking and raising one issue with a junior staff sister, told my mothers lack of being cleaned wad due to agency staff! Sorry but where is the accountability? Very very sad to see older patients not shown simple kindness or empathy! Ok, staff technically follow mandatory guidelines on moving patients, but would a not of reassurance and talking to patients be too much to ask for. Also surprised that on a number of occasions have found no water and alarms out of reach. Now come on - these are basics! With a nursing background, I honestly feel that maybe ward managers and sisters/lcharges should be walking around a bit more. As for weekends ensure you have a mix of stronger nurses on rota. Seriously heartbreaking to see these things, although in fairness not everyday.,St Helier, I am strongly tempted to put some spy cameras in there!
"A&E brilliant, shame about attitude of staff on..."
