I attended the clinic in the Department of Oral Medicine last Wednesday (13/1/15). The appointment was for 12 noon and the letter had stated (in bold!) to allow up to 3 hours for the appointment and arrive 15 minute early. I allowed plenty of time to get there and actually arrived nearly 30 minutes early. The reception staff were very efficient and courteous. Having prepared myself for a long wait, I was amazed to be called in after only about 5 minutes (about 15 minutes earlier than my appointment time) and was greeted by a Specialist Doctor in Oral Medicine who introduced herself and immediately thanked me for arriving early. She was extremely respectful, thorough in her examination and clear in explaining my condition and how it could best be treated. She was very keen to allay any anxieties I might have had. I couldn't fault the way she conducted the consultation and came away feeling well treated and positive. It was a bonus that the waiting time had been so short.
