In the past year I have seen more of local hospitals, Hemel, St Albans, Watford and Mount Vernon and now Amersham, than I would have wished but the one common factor has been the host of wonderful, helpful and caring people it has been my pleasure to meet. Perhaps because Amersham is the smallest of them it just takes the edge of being the one with most warmth and friendliness. We have friends and family in the medical field, we know something of the pressures that all who work in the medical services are under so we are even more appreciative of the care and kindness we have been shown. I have been fortunate that in a long life I have not spent much time in hospitals but my first experiences pre-dated the NHS.And I can see that for a myriad reasons the the ways of continuing to improve health and wellbeing in our society will change. I believe that those who are coping now and their successors will find the strength and courage to meet the challenges of the future
