Just had a short stay in Scarbados Hospital! I have a previous medical complaint, so if I show certain symptoms it sometimes causes alarm Bells and I end up in hospital being monitored for a day or two. This has been such an incident. I did have a very long wait in A&E, 8 1/2 hours to be precise. But although abit boring, it was fine. The staff were plesent, I was seen 4 times throught that period by various staff members. People seem to forget, although it may not look that busy on the surface, there is a lot going on that you can't see. The staff were clearly busy. There was abit of chit chat etc, but they are at work. We are not in the Victorian workhouse, we all socialise at work, it didn't affect a thing. After my long but certainly not stressful wait, I was admitted to Maple ward. What an amazing place! The staff are wonderful, a true credit to the hospital. Although my reason for being here was nothing severe and more precautionary, I was treated with just the same love and care as everybody else and had plenty of privacy and respect given. My last long stay in hospital was at MRI which is a massive amazing brand new state of the art place which I was so impressed with. I remember whilst in there thinking 'I wish every hospital was like this'. Scarborough may not be the most modern, but the levels of care, attention, diagnosis, communication and service were just the same and I am very very impressed and pleased to have this as my local hospital :) keep it up! I'm one of the few who can see and appreciate how hard your actually working.
