I need assistance to drink and eat because I have a delayed swallow. The doctors have prescribed 6 feeding times to take place every two hours between 8am and 6pm. Today 14th January no one comes to give me a drink at 4pm. A kind agency nurse finally helps me have a drink at 5.30pm. They say they are a healthcare assistant down. At 7.30pm my daughter is asked to give me a drink and a yoghurt because there is no healthcare assistant. Many of my feeding times are missed. Even more often many staff don't have the patience to let me drink slowly. I am given three teaspoons and they are gone. This is very difficult for me because it takes a lot of energy and concentration for me to swallow and the first few swallows are the most difficult for me.
