I have been monitored closely for the past 2 years by the Haematology department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. I have been kept constantly informed of my progress with patience and clear information in order for me to partake in decisions relating to my treatment.
I am very reassured that I have contact with a specialist sister who is always there if I need to speak and if she promises to ring me she does; she has never failed to ring me back if I leave a message.
The pharmacy transactions seem to be a problem at the hospital and although I have only needed to use it twice, on both occasions it took between 1-2 hours to receive medication. The facility is new and maybe it has teething problems but there is inadequate seating and queues from down the corridor blocking entrances
I must mention our GP surgery, Nethergreen as they made an early referral and are a very good proactive surgery. The team from reception there is first class.
I think to sum up I would say that communication gives confidence and I am more than confident that the care I have received and will receive are of the best at this trust.
"Well informed and reassured by haematology staff"
