My daughter attended the surgery as she has a rash and feels extremely ill. She saw a practice nurse as yet again, no doctor's appointments were available. The practice nurse said that my daughter had the symptoms of measles but was reluctant to give a definitive diagnosis as it is rare.
My daughter asked what other illness it could be and explained that a diagnosis was necessary to her work place for time off sick. The nurse suggested acne, a 'virus' while looking at images of measles on Google.
When my daughter asked to see a doctor she was informed that there were no appointments until early February! This does not comply with current legislation and it is not the first time this has been raised.
My daughter was told that her notes would be given to a GP and that they would call her with a diagnosis. No call back so far and the surgery is now closed for the day.
