"Nurse had empathy to my situation"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I just wanted to sing the praises of the male nurse who saw me at A&E at GHH yesterday. He was efficient, knowledgeable and thorough whilst at the same time having empathy to my situation.

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback.

Our Emergency Department, like many others in the region has been under significant pressure during recent weeks. It's good to hear that our staff are working hard to maintian high standards & I'll certainly pass on your feedback to the team.

Regards

Richard

Thank you for your reply. I'm aware of the pressure on Emergency Departments at the moment and that is why I felt it was important to share my experience. It is very easy to focus on the things that are going wrong rather than things going right.

The male nurse (apologies, he may have been an ANP) was so thorough, efficient, professional, pragmatic and yet at the same time was kind and empathetic. Like I said in my original message, I was probably only with him for 10 mins, but I felt that I had been thoroughly checked and assessed. Thank you.
