I take my hat off to the Staff and Social care workers who looked after my Dad in July and August 2014. Their care was exemplary: being both practical and warm and human. We had to move Dad to a nursing home with 24 hour cover after he was stabilised and we were really sorry to have to take him away from the ward where we knew he was receiving such kind and patient care. Dealing with someone with dementia is frustrating, awkward and time-consuming and yet the boundless patience shown not to mention the skill shown by the HCAs and nursing staff never failed to impress. The improvement in Dad was marked too - he became less agitated and much happier as he got used to the staff and came to trust them. A brilliant, brilliant community hospital...I can't praise them enough.
"Fabulous treatment of my Dad when his dementia..."
