I was taken to A&E after falling and injuring my knee. The treatment was prompt and all the staff were excellent. It was by far the best experience of A&E I have had. I then had to return to the Royal Liverpool Hospital for fracture clinic appointments and a ultrasound scan. All of the staff in fracture clinic, x-Ray and ultrasound were friendly and professional. As this was a difficult time, their kindness will not be forgotten. I subsequently had surgery at Broadgreen Hospital to repair my quadriceps tendon. Again all of the staff were excellent, especially the orthopaedic surgeon Joanne Banks. I work in the NHS but it is really an eye opener to be on the receiving end, but I honestly believe that my experience could've been any better. I have just 1 little suggestion; the pick up/drop off zone outside the main entrance of the Royal is a bit of a nightmare as taxis take up all the space and on several occasions, there were unattended cars parked there. This made it difficult for my wife to get me into the car as I am on crutches. Perhaps it should be monitored a little better?
