"Had baby a few weeks early so was told he would..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Had baby a few weeks early so was told he would stay in neonatal until due date but was given no information how that department operates and what to expect. The Doctors however were professional and pleasant throughout this period but the same cannot be said about the neonatal nurses. They did not once ask me during my stay how I was or gave me any advice when I asked certain questions. The whole time was very stressful and confusing as I felt I didn't know what I was doing and i felt belittled by the nurses. I didn't speak my mind while I was there because i didn't want the care of my baby to be affected. I overheard nurses pick which babies they want to look after and ones they didn't! I appreciate all that neonatal unit offers to help babies in all conditions but my experience was upsetting and hopefully I never have to experience it again
