"My Mother-in-laws stay at St James Hospital Leeds"

A few weeks ago after several Antibiotics Hilda was taken into A+E at the doctor's request not mine. I was not particularly happy with her going into A+E as I'd heard the Horror Stories of old people being left in corridors etc and did not want this to happen to my frail ill Mother-in-law!! The Doctor had explained to me that she would not go through A+E but go straight onto an assessment ward I was telephoned by St James saying they were expecting her all good so far. Then a few hours later an ambulance came to pick her up and it became obvious that this was being treated like a 999 call the ambulance paramedics had no idea about any assessment unit I phoned the Doctor and was told she couldn't get her in the assessment unit so I wasn't happy with her going to A+E But was warned if anything happened to her it would be my fault !! So I let her go. She was in there over 11 hours. she is diabetic was ill and has other serious conditions. she was moved to a ward J17 were she was looked after however she wasn't up and walking so she was very weak she was in hear around a week and I asked for a Doctor to explain what was happening etc I was told that Hilda was getting better but was not able to go home due to weakness and lack of mobility -she would therefore go to a bed in a home to reabilitate her a CIC bed - then she would have the CIC Team visit her at home until settled again I was very happy with this During this time I felt assured that she was being given the best care !! i caught a bug so was unable to visit Hilda was told she would have to have another CT Scan - which didn't happen she is now to have it as an outpatient not happy about this !! Hilda was then moved to J46 she was left all day in a waiting room with TV and was not given anything to eat for tea I remind you at this time she is Diabetic !! She was eventually fed after telling nurses on the ward The next was a knock at the Door and an ambulance driver was at the door with Hilda !! We weren't told that she was coming home. we were not informed that she was not going into a home for rehab When she got home she was in a worse state than when she went into Hospital The Care in Community Team visited and Hilda did her five star walking as every old person does as they lived in a era where you tried your best but reality is she could not is still not able to get out of bed walk to the toilet - good job she has a Comoard I am still in a state of shock My fears were met. What do I do ? Hilda has fallen whilst going to bed ? My husband helped her up only to hear her say I can't do anything i thought I was going to get back on my feet in a home !!
