"Unhappy with advice for skin condition"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I have just met with a Doctor at my local Hospital today because I have what is commonly known as Malasma. This is a common skin condition and there are different treatments available of which some include hormonal exploration.

I told this Doctor I was of mixed race origin and that my mother was irish and my father from Fiji. So instead of respecting my expression of my origin he went onto describe me as half irish and half fijian and wrote it down. I made a racist joke and he joined in. He asked me if I burnt in the sun. Guess what folks, everyone will eventually burn in the sun! It is not a race or colour thing you will burn. Some can stay longer than others in it but that is all. The ozone is dead in some parts of the world and we have global warming on a major scale and this Doctor is in the 70's still. I am outside London in the Northwest of England.

I was told that the treatment would take up to 2 years using creams and there was no laser treatment in this hospital available and if this did not work then there was nothing else. And I would not see him again. A nurse walks in and makes me lose my trail of thought, so I ask who she is. He hands me a prescription and I leave.
