"Nasal Cautery by Silver Nitrate"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I visited Q A for the first time on 12th January 2014. Obviously I didn't have a clue where I was going so it was really nice to find a friendly greeter just past the reception area to give advice and directions. The hospital is massive and as I made my way along the corridors I must have still looked lost as three more members of staff asked if I needed help. That was nice. The doctor I saw was thorough and explained the procedure and carried it out well. In my case he gave me aftercare advice, said the nose would run for a couple of days, but I was not told that I would get these severe sinus/flu type symptoms. Had trouble sleeping last night due to the severe head ache and my teeth ached. Then again, maybe not everyone would suffer the same after effects. Overall I found the hospital and staff first class and could not find fault. Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write in to provide us with such positive feedback. We are delighted that our volunteers and other staff members were able to point you in the right direction and keep you at ease during your first attendance to the hospital. Please be assured that we will of course pass your kind words on to all the relevant staff.
