"Being told I have kidney cancer"

About: St John's Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Unfortunately Dr Mills and his team had the task of breaking the bad news to me and my husband that they had found cancer in my left kidney.

Although this is out of Dr Mill's area he handled the situation extremely well, getting hold of the correct medical professionals and referring my case. This was not easy as most of the consultants were on holiday for the Christmas break.

Dr Mills kept me informed via phone, both him and his team are very professional and I thank them for their care and compassion during this very trying time.

I have now had my left kidney removed and I am recovering. I am very grateful to Dr Mills and his team for their care and professionalism.

It is lovely to hear that the compassion and professionalism shown by Dr Mills and his team supported you through this difficult time. I do hope you are now making a good recovery.

I will pass your feedback on to Dr Mills and the Chief Nurse for the area.
