My opinion of this hospital will never change. Last night I was bitten by a dog, my daughter phoned up to find out what to do they told her to take me to a7e. On arrival at the hospital we were told to take a seat, after about 10 mins a a nurse shouted my name, she looked at my arm said I should see a doctor, put some stuff on it and bandaged it then told me to take a seat in the waiting area, this was 12.30am, at 1.55am I spoke to the nurse sitting at the desk to ask how long it would be, she said I was next on the list. After another half hour 02.25am I returned to the desk to ask the same question, first off she pointed to the glass window and said I have just posted the notice stating there is a 3hrs waiting from 2am, She didnt seem to realise that only half an hour ago that I had spoken to her. When I said that I had been there since 12.30am she looked at me as if I was joking, looked on a list to check then pointed to the notice again. I told her that I was going home as I wasnt prepared to wait another 3 hrs. She said that was my choice and said to sign a form, which I refused, she then accused me of be abusive., which I wasnt, she will probably say that I had been drinking which I dont deny, I had been having a drink with my family. But saying that I refused to wait another 3 hrs and was going home is not abusive, I did say that the hospital is crap and deserves the repuation that it as, Already had bad experience in that hospital with my partner 7 yrs ago when he was sent home with earache and 2 days later back in on life support with meningitus. My daughter signed the form and apologised on my behalf even though in my opinion there was no need as I was not abusive to her. I understand that there are emergency cases that need to be seen, but when you see nurses just standing or sitting around that does not come across as being busy. There was not many people in a&e only about 6 people but they didnt seem to be seeing anybody I didnt chose to come to the hospital my daughter was told to take me
