I went to the ED after having a persistently high temperature (40. 0) that just would not go down, dehydration and a chest infection.
Knowing how busy the department is at this time of year I called NHS 111 first hoping to avoid needing to go in. Alas, it was not to be.
I was reluctant to go in at first but very glad I did in the end. I was given antibiotics, fluids, nebulisers and a chest xray. I can't fault the care and attention I was given. All the nurses were great and the radiographers (especially Mary) were really caring.
I was looked after by Dr Greg. He was really good and explained what was he thought was wrong and what was going on. Just being told what is going on makes such a difference.
