"Unhappy about hearing aid from Doncaster PCT"

I have had some 50 years experience of using NHS in Doncaster. In all honesty I always felt the service is great, especially the people that provide that service are absolutely top class. I never had any occasion to complain except one matter.

This last time I went in for the hearing test. All went well. The people were helpful and the nurses and doctors were top class. The device they could provide was not acceptable. I had a hearing aid for the last six years but was not adequate anymore.

I was offered a digital device but was not as good as one a friend received in another PCT. I did not accept it because I was not prepared to be treated as a second class citizen. I pay all my taxes as people in other PCT’s do. I don’t see any reason for accepting less favourable treatment or supply of a device necessary for life.

No one from the management answered my correspondence and I have been taken off the list by people at the Chequers Road Clinic. The PCT are at fault, not the people that work for it.
