I had my first colonoscopy yesterday and I was terrified as I have a general fear of hospitals, and not very visible veins. All the staff were very informative and supportive, and were extremely understanding when I started to get upset. The procedure was done by a man, and he was accompanied by 2 ladies, one of whom held my hand and stroked my head the whole time to calm me down. They were all very good to me and all 3 of them reassured me throughout the entire procedure. When it was over one of the ladies took me to the recovery room and stayed for a few minutes to make sure I was okay before leaving me to rest. Overall I was incredibly impressed as I must have been a nightmare patient, I kept apologising for the state I was in and they just kept telling me I had nothing to be sorry for. I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to get me through it, so thankyou so so much. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this department in the slightest. Thanks again DTC staff!
